Funeral services for John Lauterbach, veteran fireman of Springfield, who was assistant foreman of Union Relief Fire Company No. 4 years ago, will be held Saturday afternoon. Mr. Lauterbach died at 12:15 o'clock this morning at his home on Springfield rural route No. 8 at the age of 81 years, 10 months and 3 days. He was born in Byrn, Germany and at the age of four years came to the United States. His wife, three daughters and one son preceded him in death.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Stremsterfer, Mrs. Mary Dunn, Mrs. Adda Boehner and Miss Catherine Lauterbach, and three sons, John E., George W. and Clarence L. Lauterbach.

John H. Lauterbach, who was foreman of Springfield's first fire fighting company, composed of volunteers, will be buried in Oak Ridge cemetery Saturday afternoon. Mr. Lauterbach, who founded the Lauterbach brick yards north of the city sixty-five years ago and conducted the business until his retirement eighteen years ago, will be paid final tribute at funeral services at the residence.
