Paul Joseph Marino, Aviation Ordnanceman First Class was killed March 19 while serving aboard the USS Franklin, according to word received by his father, Norman Marino of 1500 Avenue K, Ensley. He had been in the Navy since 1942 and had participated in six major engagements, including those at Iwo Jima and the Marianas. In addition to his father, he is survived by four brothers: (Sam Marino, Alabama), Corp. Anthony Marino (Germany), Joseph Marino, Machinist's Mate 2c, USNR (South Pacific)and Charlie Marino, New York. Three sisters: Mrs. Sam (Mary)Lorino, Mrs. Sam (Jennie) Miranda and Miss Josephine Marino, all of Ensley, Alabama. (He was preceded in death by his mother Rose Mundi Marino and infant sister Gladys Marino in 1933).
