Josephine Ann Marino, 88, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, March 1, 2017.

She was born in West Blocton to Onoforino and Rose Mundi Marino.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Ann Lorino and Jennie Miranda; her brothers, Sam, Charles, Joseph, Anthony and Paul Marino; her husband, Sam Petix and her second husband, Frank Marino; her son, Vincent Petix and her grandson, Todd Chaney.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Hester (Paul) and Paula Clowdus (Randy); her daughter in law, Peggy Petix Colby (Marty); her step daughters, Katherine Chaney (Terry), Mary Linda Good (Spencer), and Cheryl Baker (Ashley); her step son, Jack Marino; her brother in law, Matteo Marino; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She retired from Bruno's grocery after 27 years of service.

She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church with a special devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. She was a current member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her joy was cooking pasta on Sundays for her family.

Josephine was an avid Alabama football fan and loved to play bingo.

The family wishes to thank the staff of New Beacon Hospice, with a special thanks to Elaine Law , Michelle, Candi, Lisa, Christi and caregiver, Kamin Medders.
