Born Monticello, IN, her family moved to Pottawattamie County, IA where she met and married Wesley Perkins near Oakland, Dec. 30, 1897.

Raising 6 children, one died in infancy, on their family farm near Oakland/Carson, IA, she attended the Methodist Church and became a member of the Masonic Order of Eastern Star (OES).

They later lived in Los Angeles and then on a farm in rural La Sierra, Riverside County.

After the death of her husband, she lived briefly with the families of several children and then moved to Omaha where she lived with the family of daughter Iva Herbert. She passed away at Doctors Hospital in Omaha on 3 Jul 1957 and was buried with husband Wesley at Carson Cemetery, Carson, IA.
