Bio

A native Omahan, I attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where I majored in music education (trombonist), minored in social studies and nurtured a great love of American history.

A master's degree in performance at Manhattan School of Music in Trombone and Conducting, followed by a doctor of education in music at Columbia University in New York, prepared me for a musical career in Broadway Theatre, Radio City Music Hall Orchestra, name bands and symphonic concert performance in New York and later as Director of Bands at Temple University in Philadelphia.

Doctoral research on the bands of 18th and 19th century Italy prepared me for later historical research and eventually led me to develop a "passion" for genealogy.

I have been particularly interested in creating, and adding to records, on findagrave for the Herbert family (with variation of Harbert) to which I currently can trace to Fayette Co, Pennsylvania in the early 1800's. My mother's family, the Perkins, lived in Hampton, NH in 1630, and produced numerous patriots, serving in every War on American soil until WWII.

I look forward to adding historical elaboration on both the Herbert and Perkins families for findagrave. I welcome suggestions and comments.
