Roque was a soldado in 1781. He accompanied the priests and first settlers from Baja California to form the missions and towns of San Diego and Pueblo de Los Angeles. He later became a farmer in Los Angeles. He had two brothers who were also soldados.

Mission Records Burial Information:
SFR = San Fernanco Mission
Burial Date: 30 Nov. 1798

Per mercedjimb1 6/15/2013:
"The burial record [noted above] for Roque says he was buried in the "iglesia" church."
[So Roque is buried "iglesia de esta mission" meaning church of this mission. He is buried in the church rather than the cemetery.]

Research by Robert Welham 9/2011:
He's actually buried at the Mission itself. The correct location is Mission San Fernando Rey de Espana Cemetery
I contacted the San Fernando Mission Archives (the mission itself doesn't hold any records). They indicated that there were no originally no names, just little wooden crosses to mark the graves. This graveyard is located just outside the door of the church near the area where Bob Hope and his wife are buried.
Unfortunately, this area was smashed during the 1971 earthquake (part of the building fell on it). (There are pictures of the area in some journals before the quake). The archivist also told me that UCLA had done some digging in the area, but he hasn't been able to get the report. So the graves are there, but they are now completely unmarked. Your reference to the Huntington Library database is correct.
