Frances Ernestine Carl Snyder, 82, died Friday, June 28, 1991, at her home at Hearthstone Apartments in Topeka.


She was born September 23, 1908, near Onaga, the daughter of Bertha and E. Colonel Carl. She attended Independence rural grade school and graduated from Onaga High School. Employed at the United Telephone office in Onaga for a number of years, Frances later worked with the State Highway Department in Topeka.

She was married to Clifford G. Snyder June 3, 1936 in Topeka,45 years until his death December 11, 1981. They
operated Snyder's Jewelry Store in Topeka for about 20 years.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Rowles and Donna Lee Valburg, both of Onaga, and three brothers, Grayson of Onaga, Ernie of Topeka, and Ralph in Oceanside, Calif
Her other brother, Nate, preceded her in death in 1988.

Memorial Services were Sunday, June 30, at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Topeka. Entombment was there in Mount Hope Mausoleum with her husband.
