In April of 1948, Virginia was united in marriage to Robert Q. McDonald in Merceline, Missouri. Later, on August 26, 1972, she was united in marriage to John Vicevich in Centerville, Iowa. She worked nine years at McGraw-Edison in Centerville and worked until she retired for Young Radiator in Centerville. She was a 43 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Centerville.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; 1st husband, Robert McDonald on May 24, 1966 and husband, John Vicevich on July 1, 2008; brothers, Harley and Clyde Ranes and twins, Merle and Pearl Ranes.
Virginia is survived by: her step-sons, Terry, Tom, Sam and Bill Vicevich all of Illinois and Dennis Vicevich of Carbon Cliff, Illinois; step-daughter, Sandra Vicevich of Breinigsville, Pennsylvania; nieces and nephews, Richard and his wife, Peggy Ranes, Frank and his wife, Dianne Ranes, JoAnne and her husband, Jerry Arbogast and Susanne and her husband, Ron Ballanger all of Centerville, Iowa; also great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nevember 12, 2008 at 10:30am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Fr. Dennis Schaab officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 from 1-6pm with the family present from 9:30am till the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the Oakland Cemetery Association.
