John L. Howell Dies After Long Illness.

John Lee Howell, age 57 years, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Allison Frazer, in LaFayette, last Wednesday evening, September 22, about 6:30 o'clock following an lingering illness of about five years.
The deceased was a well known citizen of this county during his lifetime and had many friends throughout the section of the county for a number of years and also made his home in Lanett. During recent months he had made his home in LaFayette.
Funeral service was held from the Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church last Thursday afternoon at two o'clock with Elder L. M. Parrish officiating. Interment was in the Macedonia Cemetery. Pallbearers were George Howell, Marvin Howell, Grady Howell, O. D. Sorrell, Theodore Garner and Wilton Henderson.
Surviving are an aged mother, Mrs. Mary F. Howell, LaFayette; sisters, Mrs. W. T. Barber, Roanoke, and Mrs. D. A. Frazer, LaFayette, and a wealth of friends and relatives throughout the county.
