The grave marker erroneously says his middle name was Lee. He either changed it himself because he didn't like Leo, or an error was made on the grave marker. The birth and death dates are correct for Charles Leo Hardy and I'm POSITIVE his middle name was Leo; he was my grandmother's brother and she told me his full name many times in a family oral history I recorded. He died in Utah and his body was shipped home (according to his obit) so he could be buried at Mount Hope with his family.

Charles Leo's wife's name was Herna (according to his obituary), last name unknown.

He served in WWI in the Missouri S2C USNRF.

He was a plumber.
