Services for Agnes Josephine Newman, 79, Tallahassee, Fla., a former Joplin (Mo.) resident, who died Friday at her home, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. The Rev. Keith Whitmore will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Webb City. The family will be at 425 Duquesne Road. Mrs. Newman was born June 6, 1905, at Webb City. She had lived in Florida since May 1977, moving there from Joplin. Her husband, Rex Newman, former editorial page editor at The Joplin Globe, died Dec. 22, 1971. Surviving are a son, Rex T. Newman, Tallahassee; a sister, Helen Myers, Webb City; and three grandchildren.
