Harold E. Cushing of Bonnell St., Middletown, N.Y., a retired custodian for the Middletown School System and a lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 1984 at home after a long illness. He was 75. The son of the late Christopher and Ella D. Morse Cushing. He was born on November 7, 1908 in Middletown, N.Y.. Mr. Cushing was a U.S. Army veteranof World War II and a member of the Wallkill Post American Legion No. 181, Town of Wallkill. Survivors include his wife, Frances Decker Cushing at home; three sons: Ronald Cushing of Wurtsboro, N.Y., Harold Cushing Jr. of Otisville, N.Y. and Harvey Cushing of Middletown, N.Y.; three sisters: Esther Purgatorio of Middletown, N.Y., Isabelle Clifford of Goshen, N.Y. and Celia Weadock of Jupiter, Fla.; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 7-9p.m. today at the Hasbrouck Funeral Chapel. 208 North St., Middletown, N.Y.. Services will be held at 11a.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel. The Rev. Robert Blake will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Middletown, N.Y.
