Christopher Cushing, formerly of Middletown, N.Y. and a retired employee of Wallace Feed Store, died suddenly here Saturday, September 28, 1957. He was 83yrs. He was born in England December 25, 1873, son of Stephen and Rebecca Cushing. His wife was former Ella Morse. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Blanche Lewis of Whittler, Calif., Mrs. Ella Smith of Suffern, N.Y., Mrs. Isabelle Clifford of Chester, N.Y., Mrs. Barbara Weadock of New York City and Mrs. Esther Purgatorio of Middletwon, N.Y.; two sons, Percy Cushing of Milford, Conn. and Harold Cushing of Middletown, N.Y.; 23 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2p.m. tomorrow at Hasbrouck's Chapel. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Middletown, N.Y.. Friends may call at Hasbrouck's this evening.

Christopher Cushing and Ella D. Morse had another daughter, Cecelia Cushing, c. 1906. Celia was recorded on the 1910 U.S. Census in Middletown, Orange County, NY age 3, after sisters Blance E. (11), Ella (9) and Ezabely (5), followed by Harold E. (1). The 1920 U.S. Census in Orange County, New York recorded Cecelia R. (13) falling in line between Isabell (15) and Harold E. (11), no listing for Barbara Cushing.

Cecelia Cushing married Clarence Leslie Gale on 20 July 1925 in Orange County, New York. Clarence the youngest son of James Bouton Gale [#173680691 ] and Carrie Crabb [#173680688 ] of New Canaan, Connecticut. Cecelia and Clarence recorded as both living in Stamford, Connecticut at the time. No further information can be found on either.
