Joseph I. Ardis, 61, was a chemical engineer for Siva's Tank Company.

Joseph I. Ardis married Ruth Scheibe on 17 October 1937 in Dallas. The couple moved to Odessa in 1946.

Joseph Ardis was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Hardin-Simmons University.

Survived by his wife; one son - Joseph Price Ardis; two daughters - Mrs. Susan Moser and Mrs. Glenn Biedermann; three sisters - Mrs. Leon McCracken, Mrs. Glenn Lisle and Mrs. Terrell Watson; three granddaughters.
