Florine was born June 29, 1916, in Brownfield, Texas, along with her twin sister, Kathleen, to parents Isaac and Maggie Ardis. During her growing up years Florine lived in Elaisville, Herron City and Abilene. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1934 where she was a member of the Pep Squad, G&G Club and the Typing Club. She attended Hardin-Simmons University for two years and The University of North Texas for a semester. Florine accepted Christ as her Saviour at age 12 and was baptized at the Baptist Church in Elaisville.

Florine married Terrell Watson Feb. 19, 1938, in Abilene and moved to Odessa where Terrell was working for Stanolind Oil & Gas. For many years Florine was a homemaker and enjoyed being at home, raising their children and spending quality time with family which included her four siblings and their families. After all her children were in school Florine was a substitute teacher for ECISD before beginning a 13 year career at the Cloth World in Odessa. She retired in 1978.

Florine and Terrel moved back to Young County in April, 1980. They enjoyed many years being near family and old friends in that area. Florine enjoyed quilting with the home extension club, attending church at Graham's First Baptist Church, and traveling with the senior adults of the church. In 2002 after living for 22 years at South Bend, Texas, Florine and Terrell move to Merrill Gardens in Graham where they lived for almost three years. Terrell died June 1, 2005, in Graham. The couple was married over 67 years.
