Robert was the oldest child of James Ladd and Mary Ladd Binford.
In 1826 he came with his parents and siblings to Indiana.
On March 30 1837 Robert married Martha Hill.
They raised 9 children-Benjamin, John, William, Martha, Robert, Joseph, Mary, Nathan and Alice. This is from "The Society Of Indiana pioneers." I have read there were 11 children.
He became very wealthy.
Robert and family were Orthodox Friends/Quakers.
Robert died at home, Ripley, Rush County, Indiana.
