"Joseph L. Binford, aged sixty-two years, died at his home in Blue River township, Hancock county, last Friday evening at 6 o'clock following an illness of several weeks of paralysis. His death had been expected for several days. He was one of the best known farmers and one of the most influential citizens of the township, and was president of the Capital State Bank, of Greenfield. He succeeded his brother, the late John H. Binford, as president of the bank at his death two years ago. Deceased was also a prominent member of the Friends church. He leaves a large circle of relatives and friends.
Mr. Binford was a cousin of the late Joseph Binford, of this city, and Mrs. Hulda Binford and Mrs. Anna Pritchard attended the funeral, which occurred at Walnut Ridge church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, in charge of Rev. Elliott, pastor of Western grove church. Interment was made at Walnut Ridge cemetery."

Mr. Binford was one of the best known farmers and one of the most influential citizens and farmer of Blue River township and was president of the Capital State Bank, of this city. He succeeded his brother, the late John H. Binford, as president of the bank at his death two years ago. Mr. Binford was also a prominent member of the Friends church and leaves a large circle of relatives and friends.
He is survived by the widow who was his third wife and six children, as follows: Orial J. Binford, of El Paso, Texas; Homer Binford, Blue River township; Mrs. Paul Thompon, Duluth, Minnesota; Ms. Grover C. Grime Indianapolis; Mrs. Harry Bentley, Rush county and Mrs. Henry Wallsmith of Hartford City. He is a brother of the late John H. and Benj. H. Binford and also of Nathan C. Binford and Mary L. Bruner, of Greenfield; William Penn and R. Barclay Binford and Martha J. Elliot, of Blue River township and Mrs. Charles A. Bacon, of Hutchison, Kansas. there are many more distant relatives.
Funeral Sunday at 2:30 at Walnut Ridge Church, with Rev. Elliot, pastor of Western grove church officiating. Interment at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. H. Eshelman, undertaker."

Binford. Mr. Binford was married three times and is survived by a widow and six children, Oriel. J. of El Paso, Tex., Homer, Blue River township, Mrs. Paul Thompson, Duluth, Minn., Mrs. Grover Grime, Indianapolis, Mrs. Harry Bentley, of Rush county, and Mrs. Henry Wallsmith, of Hartford City, Ind. Funeral services were largely attended and held at Walnut Ridge church Sunday, the pastor of Western Grove church, Rev. Elliott, officiating."
