Mr. Pearson was engaged in farming in this county until the fall of 1930, when he retired and moved to Fairmont. He enjoyed good health until about five weeks ago, when he became ill, and failed to recover. He bore his affliction with a patience and calmness seldom witnessed. He was a kind and loving husband and father, with a deep respect for his home and family.
Deceased leaves to mourn his sudden departure, his devoted wife, and children, Lloyd of Marcus, Ia., Frank of Grafton, Raymond of Stockham, Mrs. Haxel Witte of Grafton and Mrs. Blanche Nielsen of Waco; five brothers and two sisters, Will of Adel, Ia., Phil of Pleasanton, Kansas, Ed of Chatsworth, Ill., and Ira of Joliet, Ill., Mrs. Ada Felt of Pasadena, California and Mrs. Cora Dann of Ankeny, Iowa; ten grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at Fairmont Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, April 8, the pastor, Rev. L.A. Fishel, officiating. The singers were Mrs. Rufus Dado, Mrs. W.R. Dorrance, Oliver Moul and Alden McFadden, with Mrs. A.A. Ashby as accompanist. Interment was made in the Fairmont cemetery, pallbearers being Ernest Souba, T.W. Roper, Frank Ritchey, Charles Keil, Fred Witte and Gordon Nichols.
