Anna Grace Stark, the daughter of Charles and Catherine Stark, was born at McCool Junction May 17, 1875. She spent her early days in that locality, attending the public schools.

December 27, 1900, she was united in marriage to Fred Pearson. To this union were born three sons and two daughters. After her marriage, she and her husband farmed in Fillmore county. In 1930 they retired from the farm and moved to Fairmont, where she continued to reside until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1946. Five years later her son Raymond passed away.

Mrs. Pearson was a very unusual personality. To know her was to love her. She was possessed of the spirit of kindness. She always manifested a deep regard for her home and family as well as for her many friends. She was a kind and loving mother and delighted in the association with her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of the West Blue aid, the Sunset Club, the Royal Neighbors and the Rebekah lodge and Kensington. After coming to Fairmont, she united with Grace Methodist Church. During her illness of some seven months her regret was that she was kept from the services of her church. She was a fine Christian woman in every respect. Her going will leave a large vacancy in the hearts of her many friends.

She was the last survivor of the Stark family. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters. After a lingering illness, during which she was almost continually confined to her bed, her divine summons came and she sleeps, being aged at the time of her death, 79 years, 9 months and 1 day. She leaves to mourn her loss, two sons, Lloyd of Marcus, Ia., and Frank of Grafton, Neb.; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Witte of Grafton and Mrs. Blanche Nielsen of York; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; besides a goodly number of more distant relatives and a multitude of friends and neighbors.

The memorial services were held in Grace Methodist Church in Fairmont, Monday afternoon, February 21, by Dr. Charles B. Hankins, her pastor, and the body was laid to rest in the Fairmont Cemetery.
