Bennett Pearson was born in England in about 1828, the son of parents believed to be Anthony & Ann (Bennett?) Pearson. He was first married to Sarah Woods and they had 7 children (Henry, John, George, Harriet, Eliza (& 2 more) -- not necessarily in that order but Eliza was the youngest). When his wife died, he married Hannah Storey who is believed to be a niece of either Bennett or Sarah. He & Hannah had 13 children and he raised Alice, born to Hannah out of wedlock, as his own, making their family 14 children (Alice, Mary, Fred, William, Charles, Elmer, Ada, Nellie, Edwin, Cora, Fillmore, Arthur, Jesse & Ira). Bennett died at the family farm west of Chatsworth in 1888.
