Kenneth Franklin Peterson, son of Andrew E. and Selma Anderson Peterson was born October 28, 1914 at the family farm northwest of Stromsburg, Nebraska. He passed away October 1, 1996. Kenneth was baptized February 6, 1917 and was confirmed June 23, 1929 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola. where he remained a faithful member his entire life. He served on the church council and in many congregational activities. He attended school at Polk County District 50 through the eighth grade. Then he continued at Stromsburg High School where he graduated in 1931. He assisted his father and others in farming and other related pursuits until he began farming for himself in the Stromsburg area in 1936. Kenneth married Opal Fredrickson on December 30, 1936 in Omaha. They became parents of two sons, Franklin and Douglas. They retired to an apartment in Stromsburg in 1987. Kenneth lived at the Midwest Covenant Home much of the past four years. Memorial services were held Thursday, October 3, 1996 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola with the Rev. Lavern Larkowski officiating. Interment followed in the Osceola Cemetery. Kepner-Roberts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
