Obituary for Andrew Ernest Peterson -Probably the Osceola Record

Andrew Ernest Peterson. a son of Swedish immigrants Andrew and Julia Peterson. was born on the family farm near Stromsburg, Nebraska January 3, 1886. He was one of seven children. all of whom have preceded him in death. He resided on the same farm until his retirement to Osceola in 1951. He attended school in rural school district No.50 and served on its board for many years. Andrew was married to Selma Anderson of the Osceola community on March 20, 1912, so they were privileged to observe their 56th wedding anniversary in March of this year.

They became the parents of one daughter and three sons; Mrs. Evelynne Oberg, Kenneth, Wesley, and Vernon all of whom are residing in Polk County. Mr. Peterson was baptized and became a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola in 1920 where he has been an active member ever since and served on its various boards and committees. He passed away September 13, having attained the age of 82 years and 8 months.

He is survived by his wife Selma and his four children and their families. He had 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Memorial services for Mr. Peterson were held Sunday, September 15, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola. Rev Paul Konig was the clergyman. Mrs. Bette Boden sang "Children of the Heavenly Father" and "How Lovely Are Thy Dwellings" accompanied by Mrs. Marcella Konig. Bearers were grandsons of the deceased; Franklin Peterson, Douglas Peterson, Loren Peterson, Keith Peterson, Dean Wheeler and Eugene Cotter. Interment was in the Osceola Cemetery.
