Mrs. Opal M. Ward, 77, of Hillsboro, a former resident of Mt. Vernon, died yesterday at Hillsboro Hospital.
Mrs. Ward was born on July 19, 1895 in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Frank B and Ann (Osborn) Bruce.
She was married to Claude E. Ward who died in 1947.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 pm at Myers Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
Friends may call at Meyers Chapel after 6 pm today.
Mrs. Ward is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Imogene Dykema, Hillsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Marion Dykes, Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Jack Warner, Inglewood, Calif.; one granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren.
