Lillian Batzka was the wife of John Hamay. Together they had two daughters.
Lillian was a maternal great-aunt. We called her Aunt Lil. During the summers, my parents, brother and I would visit her and Uncle John in Arizona. We always did really fun things with them. Mom was very close with Aunt Lil and Uncle John.

Miss Lillian Batzka of Chicago, daughter of Robert Batzka, surprised her folks Thanksgiving morning when she arrived with her husband, John Hamay, of Kalamazoo, Mich., and announced their marriage which had taken place the day before, Wednesday, Nov. 25. The marriage ceremony was held at the parsonage of the First Congregation Church of Michigan City, Ind., Rev. Robert Hall performing the ceremony. A Thanksgiving dinner was forthwith converted into a wedding dinner and was served to the bridge and groom, with Robert Batzka, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Douglas of Hebron, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Batzka and son, Kenneth, of La Crosse; Arthur Batzka of Winamac, Fred Batzka, Jr. and Miss Dora Batzka. Mr. and Mrs. Hamay will make their home in Kalamazoo, Mich., after the first of the year where the groom is employed as a draftsman engineer. Born and raised in San Pierre and educated from the San Pierre school, Lillian has countless friends back home who join in wishing her a most happy married life.
