My maternal great-grandmother

Parents ~ Johann R. Kalinke and Wilhelmina (Maldelmoy) Kalinke
Her sister was Auguste (Kalinke) Abraham.
Her brother was Edward Kalinke.

OBITUARY
Mrs. Robert Batzka, formerly Hulda Kalinke was born in the province of East Prussia on Oct. 23, 1872, and died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Augusta Abraham, in San Pierre on the 14th day of March, 1920.
Three weeks prior to her death she was taken to the Francis Willard hospital, Chicago, for electrical treatments for a complicated disease, the result of a severe case of influenza. Nothing could be done for her there and she became worse day by day. When hope was given up for recovery, her husband brought her to the home of her sister where her death occurred.
On the 11th day of January, 1900, she was united in marriage to Robert Batzka. To this happy union were born three daughters, Dora, Lilly and Ruth and three sons, Walter, Arthur and Fred, all of whom survive.
She was of a quiet disposition, a great lover of home and family. Under the ministry of Rev. Buyer she identified herself with the Zion church of the Evangelical Association and was a faithful worker in its folds.
Left to mourn her death are her husband and six children, a brother and sister, Edward Kalinke of San Pierre and Mrs. Michael Abraham of San Pierre, and two brothers and two sisters in Germany. Her father, mother, two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community to whom Mrs. Batzka was well known and will remember her as the good quiet woman who made friends with all she met and remembered them as such always.

The funeral card in one of the photo holders says:

IN LOVING REMEMBRANCE OF
Mrs. Robert Batzka
Died: March 14, 1920

A precious love from us has gone
A voice we loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
God in His wisdom has recalled,
The book his love had given,
And though the body slumbers here,
The soul is safe in Heaven.
