Bessie Lou Thomas McKinney, age 86, of Crockett, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2005 in the East Texas Medical Center-Crockett. Mrs. McKinney was born June 6, 1918 in Mississippi. She had lived in Houston County most of her life. She was a housewife and a member of the Plain Baptist Church.
Survivors: daughter, Louise Curry and husband Richard of Crockett and son, James Arthur McKinney of Lufkin, grandchildren, Jimmy McKinney, Michael McKinney, Mark Curry, and Monique Holcomb; great-grandchildren, Marissa, Rori Louise and Conner; sister, Mildred Vaculik of Sugarland; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. McKinney was preceded in death by her husband,
J. R. "Buck" McKinney and son, Donny McKinney.
Graveside services were held January 26, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Conner Cemetery with Rev. Buddy Jones officiating.
