Carrie was the daughter of Francis Goldsberry and Rose Falkey. She married Henry Gangestad on 26 Nov 1913 in Emmet County, Iowa. They were the parents of Arnold, Ernest, Helen, Doris, and Mavis.

Armstrong – Services for Mrs. Henry (Carrie [Belle]) Gangestad, 89, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Nazareth Lutheran Church with Pastor Don Sarff officiating. Interment will be in the Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

She died Monday, Dec. 31, 1984 at Holy Family Hospital. Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home in Armstrong after 3 p.m. Wednesday.

She was born April 1, 1895 at Halfa, the daughter of Roy Goldsberry and Rosella Felkey. She attended rural Emmet County Schools. On Nov. 26, 1913 she was united in marriage with Henry S. Gangestad at the home of her parents near Halfa. The couple farmed in the Halfa and Armstrong area until 1946 when they retired and moved to Fairmont. After her husband’s death in 1970 she moved to Bancroft, then to Armstrong in 1981. She moved to Rosewood Manor in August, 1984, where she has lived since. She was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two sons: Arnold Gangestad, Brainerd, Minn., and Ernest Gangestad, Garden Grove, Calif.; three daughters: Mrs. Helen Grange, Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Maurice (Doris) Carlson, Armstrong and Mrs. Lyle (Mavis) Nelson, Laurens; 16 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Harold (Myrtle) Whitcomb, Austin, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 2, 1985)
