After the death of Melissa around 1863, Ephriam remarried Anna "Annie" Elizabeth Harper. She is buried to his right in the cemetery.
Ephriam served with the 27th Regiment, Company C, Georgia Volunteers, Colquitt's Brigade of C.S.A. Infantry. He was shot in battle at Malvern Hill, Virginia on 1 July 1862. His arm healed up stiffened into the position it had been in the sling.
Ephriam served from 10 Sep 1861 until 25 Sep 1863 according to his muster cards. His GGG granddaughter had a government marker placed on his grave 20 April 1999.
Annie & Ephriam were married May of 1863 & had six more children over the next 32 years. Ephriam applied for a disability pension on 5 March 1895. 20 days later Annie passed away. Within 2 months Ephriam was also dead at the age of 63. There are questions as to whether his death was a suicide. Years later his grandson Cauley Hudson took his own life following the death of HIS wife.
