William Henry Card, 70, Bonanza, died March 10, 1998, in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Bill Card was born in Mason City, Iowa to James and Maude Ida (Thomas) Card.

He was raised in Iowa, where he worked on his parents farm after completing his education.

He married Ardith Turner in New Hartford, Iowa, June 27, 1948. The couple later divorced and then reunited.

After working as a mechanic on the farm for a short time, Bill Card entered the Navy, serving from 1951 until 1955 during the Korean War before being honorably discharged.

January 30, 1960 Bill married Dorothy Louise Fisher at the United Methodist Church in Nashua, Iowa. To this union 2 children were born. Rachelle Renee Card- Wells and Romaine Ray Card-Wells. The couple divorced in 1961 and these 2 children were adopted by Richard Allen Wells in 1965.
Bill then reunited with his 1st wife Ardith and their 3 children.

Bill moved to California in 1962 and went to work as a mechanic for Duvall Enterprises.

Bill moved Ardith and their 3 children in 1973 to Bonanza, Oregon where he purchased property and built his own home.

Bill Card was employed by several companies, initially by the Elso DeJong Dairy and later by Don Potter Machinery, for which he worked for 12 years until its closure.

He then worked for several other companies, including Ieal Trucking, Sunny D's, Floyd A Boyd, before becoming a mechanic on his own and for Hoefler's Farm.

He enjoyed camping, sightseeing, working on tractors, and equipment and eating green olives.

While in California, Bill had a large aquarium set up in his home and he used to like building remote control airplanes, go-carts, and mini-bikes.

Whenever possible, he would attend reunions of the LST 840, the ship he was stationed on during the Korean War.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Rodney Tietjen of Klamath Falls, Oregon; daughters, JoAnn Card of Bonanza, Oregon and Rachelle Renee (Card-Wells) Pierson Bobenmoyer of New Hampton, Iowa; Son and daughter-in-law David and Patty Card of Klamath Falls, Oregon; A Son, Romaine Ray Card-Wells of Charles City, Iowa. grandchildren: Robyn, Steven and Chantel Tietjen and Bryn and Drew Card, all of Klamath Falls,Oregon and several grandchildren in Iowa Jennifer Shepard-Logue, Jessica, Jamie, Jeremy Usher, Jazz Usher- Baldwin of New Hampton, Iowa. Brock and Katey Wells of Charles City, Iowa. brothers and sister-in-law, Bud and Gloria Card and Glenn and Dorothy Card of Iowa; sister, Jeanette Card of Iowa; Great Grand son, Levi Xavier Logue of New Hampton, Iowa, and numerous nephews and nieces.

His wife Ardith preceded him in death Feb. 24, 1998.
