Margaret Cordelia Patterson married John William Bowling on January 12, 1875 in Daviess County, Indiana and they were the parents of Infant Son Bowling, Lawrence Augustine Bowling, Sabina Rebecca (Bowling) Essig, Leo John Bowling, Mary Agnes (Bowling) Brewer, James A. Bowling, Martha Ellen (Bowling) McAtee, George William Bowling, Theresa Florence (Bowling) Yates Prodzinski, Michael L. Bowling, Julian Lawrence Bowling, and Harry Joseph Bowling.

HEART DISEASE FATAL TO JOHN BOWLING'S WIFE
Well Known Woman Died Sunday Afternoon at Home in Washington
Mrs. Cordelia Bowling, aged 72 years, a lifelong resident of Daviess county, passed away at her home, 318 N. W. Eleventh street, at 12:50 o'clock Sunday afternoon following a serious illness of several months. Death was due to organic heart disease.
Deceased was born in Daviess county April 4, 1855. She was educated in the county and spent all her life here. Fifty-two years ago she married John Bowling and to this union twelve children were born, nine of whom survive.
Mrs. Bowling was well known in Washington and a very friendly woman. She made friends easily and her acquaintances were many. Death of this respected woman will be regretted by her many friends and relatives.
Surviving besides the husband are the following children: Mrs. Edward Essig, Mrs. Perry Brewer, Julian and Leo Bowling of Washington; Harry Bowling of Loogootee; George and Michael Bowling and Mrs. Arnold McAtee of Indianapolis; and Mrs. Tresa Yates of Houston, Texas.
The following brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. Nancy Norris of Loogootee; Mrs. James Bowling of Vincennes and Mrs. Seymour Mattingly of Terre Haute.
Deceased had been ill for the past five years. Since last August she had been bedfast and had been in a serious condition since that date.
She was a member of St. Simon's Catholic church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Simon's Catholic church with interment following in St. John's cemetery.
