Funeral services were held at the Soul's Chapel Church last Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Mary Annis Miller, 78 years old, who died at her home in that section Tuesday night. The services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. V.V. Capps, assisted by Rev. J.L. Piercy, of Scottsville. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery.

She was a native of this county, and was born here on April 18, 1860, the daughter of the late Walker T. and Rachael Watson Hubbard. She joined the Methodist church in early life and was affiliated with the Soul's Chapel Church. She was widely known and was beloved by all who knew her. She was married on January 17, 1878 to James Daniel Miller.

Mrs. Miller was the last member of her family of seven brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, J. Dan Miller; seven sons: Harlan and William Miller, of Louisville; Lee Miller, Jeffersonville, Ind.; Lyle Miller, Welby Miller, Wesley Miller, David Miller, Campbellsville; one daughter, Mrs. Hubbard Shreve, Taylor County; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were: W.O. Miller, Albert Miller, Jimmie Miller, Owen Hubbard, Lawrence Hubbard, Henry Hubbard. Flower girls were: Ruby Shreve, Celestine Miller, Alta Miller, Geneva Hubbard, Polly Hubbard, Gertrude Crosby, Edna Hubbard, Edna Shreve, Marjorie Miller.

The out-of-town people who attended the funeral of Mrs. Mary Annis Miller were: Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cross, Ottawa, Ill.; Mrs. George Mathers, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hubbard, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Cufaud, Mrs. Frank Brooks, Mason City, Ill.; Mrs. Edgar Woll and daughter, Glenna, San Jose, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Dearen, Bardstown; Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Miller and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. T. Miller, Louisville; Mrs. Lee Miller and family, Jeffersonville, Ind.; Rev. and Mrs. J.L. Piercy, Scottsville.

No matter what you say or do, her faith will still encompass you. Be comforted and glad today, her love can never pass away.
