Frank J. Becker

Frank J. Becker, 78, Hartington, died Friday in Hartington.

Services were at 10:30 A.M. Monday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Cyril Werner officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery with Wintz Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Tom, Steve and Keith Becker, Bob and Kelly Pick and Jeff Leise.

Mr. Becker was born Aug. 25, 1902, at Mendota, Ill., to Matt and Lena Becker. He was a resident of the Hartington area since 1909. He married Hulda L. Hochstein June 9, 1925 at Bow Valley.

Mr. Becker farmed until his retirement in 1973. He served on the District 19 school board and was a past director of the Federal Land Bank, the rural fire board and the Farmers Union Co-op.

Survivors are his wife; three sons, Roman "Bud", Marcell and Kenneth, all of Hartington; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Jolene) Leise, Hartington, and Mrs. Marcel (Alice) Lammers, Pincer Creek, Alta., Canada; a sister, Mrs. Teresa Dendinger, Randolph; 35 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son and two daughters.
