MRS. ELLWOOD FRANKLIN KING DIED ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON
Funeral services fro Mrs. Ellwood Franklin King, 66, who died Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. J. Lindsey, from complications, after ailing for several months and being bedfast for two weeks prior to her death, were held at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon from the Methodist Church in charge of Rev. O. W. Morrow. Pall bearers were Arthur White, Lew Wolfe, Otto Brood, Ed Confer, C. W. Cozad, and Arthur Ewing. Burial was in the cemetery in Emerson.
Jennie Mae Culver was born on March 19, 1869 in West Township, two miles south of Hawthorne, the daughter of John and Ethelende Carr Culver. She grew to womanhood there and on December 19. 1888, she was married at the home of her parents to Ellwood Franklin King. To this union were born six daughters, Mrs. H. J. Heuer, Mrs. Lester Cozad, Mrs. A. J. Lindsey, of Red Oak, Mrs. F. B. Schaede, of Pensacola, Florida; Mrs. J. F. Hakes of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Mrs. Madison Hall Jr., of Long Beach California, all of whom survive their mother along with the father. She spent her active life in and near Red Oka, with the exception of 16 years residence in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Beside the above named survivors there are also a brother, C. P. Culver, of Lewis; sister, Mrs. W. B. Gemmill of Anaheim, California, and 10 grandchildren.
Mrs. King was a member of the Methodist Church of Red Oak.
