COMANCHE - Funeral services for Marcell Sledge, 81, of Sidney, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 13, at Taylor's Chapel Church. Burial will be in Taylor's Chapel Cemetery under direction of Comanche Funeral Home.
Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Lunch will be at Taylor's Chapel Church at noon on Thursday.
He died Tuesday, July 11, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 10, 1924, in Hasse, to J.C. Sledge and Ophelia (Ashby) Sledge. He was married to Jo Norris on Oct. 4, 1946 in Bangs.
Survivors: wife, Jo Sledge; sons and wives, Jody and Susie Sledge, and Mark and Janet Sledge; grandchildren, Marcie Dewell and husband, Roger, Julie Sledge and Blake Sledge; great-grandchildren, Megan Dewell, J.T. Dewell and Jordan Sledge; sisters, Reba Daniels and Helen Murphey; and brother, Curtis Sledge.
