Daughter of Thomas and Ethel (Hicks) Boston.
Moved to Alma, attended school, graduated from Alma High School in 1945.
Married: Aug. 28, 1948, to Lyle Petersen in Hastings. He died in 1963.
Worked at the Ben Franklin store in Alma for four years; moved to Kearney in 1955; was a housewife until 1964, worked for W.T. Grant for nine years, then for Alco Discount Store for 20 years in sales and also was a supervisor; retired from Alco in July 1993.
Activities: member of First United Methodist Church in Kearney, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary and AARP; helped start the Parents Without Partners group in Kearney; was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother; bowled for many years, loved dancing and traveling.
Survivors include her sons, Arthur of Axtell and Arlen and Alan, both of Kearney; brothers, Dell Boston of Meridian, Idaho, Bill Boston, Reid Boston and Ronald Boston, all of Alma, and Thomas Boston of Loveland, Colo.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; also daughters-in-law, Edna Petersen of Axtell and Kelli Petersen and Cindy Simmons, both of Kearney.
She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son, two brothers and one sister.
