Verdie was the daughter of John Andrew and Stellar Octavia "WIMMIE"(Keen)Clifton. Her grandparents were--King Andrew and Rhoda(Osborne)Clifton and Oscar "O.H." and Margaret Ellen(Osborne)Keen. Verdie has four brothers--Carlos Adam Clifton, Arnerl Lee Ondus Clifton, Guster Clevenger Clifton and Jerrell Lester Clifton and one half brother--Andrew Dolphus Shortt and five sisters--Love Vada Clifton, Carrie Bell Clifton, Carmie Kmell Clifton, Jean Marie(Clifton)Davis and Delcia Oakley(Clifton)Alderson.
