Mr. J. R. James, age 78 of Grapeland, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2006 in the Winfield Health Care Center in Crockett. Mr. James was born September 17, 1928 in Houston County and was a resident of Grapeland all of his lifetime. Mr. James was retired having worked in the construction business.
Survivors include his two daughters Loraine James, of West Virginia and Linda James, of AL; three sons John Roland James, Jr. of Fla., Richard James and wife Kristina, of Ala. and Albert James and wife Karyn, of Crockett; grandchildren Ryan James and wife Rebecca, of Grapeland, Courtney Stephenson and husband Bobby, of Alto, Macie James and Carter James, both of Crockett; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by wife Lora James; and parents Linnie and John B. James.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. J. T. James will be held Friday, November 3, at 2:00 p.m. in the Davis Cemetery with Bro. Wayne Lacey officiating.
