Palestine Herald-Press The Palestine Herald-Press Sat Jun 25, 2011, 09:29 PM CDT PALESTINE — Graveside services for Loyd Austin James, 89, of Palestine will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Parker Cemetery with Judge Bascom Bentley and Bro. Darren Farley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine. Mr. James died Saturday at Dogwood Trails Assisted Living. He was born Jan. 31, 1922 in Grapeland to John B. and Linnie Williams James. Mr. James was owner operator of the James Butane Company for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grapeland, and served in the U.S. Marines during WWII. Mr. James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edna Bridges James; a daughter, Kathy James; three sisters Hazel Condron, Pearl Clark and Maudine Dailey; five brothers, Doyle James, Billy James, Dan James, Tom James and John James. He is survived by two brothers, Dalton James of Burnsville, N.C. and Wadell James of Tyler; two granddaughters, DeeDee Mock and Laura Cubstead; three great grandchildren, Jerod Mock, Collin Mock and Makayla Kennedy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
