Harold Eugene "Bud" Scobee, son of James Nicholas and Emma Rosetta (Lewis) Scobee, was born May 16, 1921, in Green Castle, Mo., and died Wednesday, April 3, 1991, in a San Benito, Tex., hospital at the age of 69 years.
He married Louise Gonyar in 1940. To this marriage two daughters were born.
He married Shirley Muir in 1946. To this marriage three sons were born. He married Mary Draper in July 1967. She preceded him in death on June 8, 1985.
He married Edith West on September 28, 1985. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Harold D. Scobee, Phoenix, Ariz., Garold Scobee, Milan, Mo., Darrell Scobee, Geeen City, Mo.; one daughter, Judy Deatherage, Sacramento, Calif.; 21 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Scobee, Smithville, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Katherine Sue King; and eight brothers and sisters.
Mr. Scobee was born and reared in the Green Castle, Mo., area. He attended Green Castle schools. He owned and operated a restaurant, did custom farming, and worked in sales. He was well known in the area for his musical ability. He was a dedicated musician and loved to entertain.
He was a charter member of Green Castle, Mo., Lions Club. He had served on the Sullivan County, Mo., Court for six years. He had been a resident of Queen City for some time.
Services were held Sunday, April 7, 1991, in Davis-Playle Funeral Chapel, Kirksville, Mo., with Sonny McAdams officiating. Music was provided by Sonny McAdams, soloist. Special selections were "Peace In the Valley," "One Day At a Time," "How Great Thou Art."
Berares were Bob McClarn, Lonnie Byrn, Gary Martin, Ivan McKim, Gail Scobee, and Billy Bassett.
Honorary bearers were John Griswold, Bob Corder, Clifford Ebert, Oral Lawson, and Darrin Vincent.
Burial was in Bullion Cemetery, Adair County, Mo.
