Services set for Wednesday

Dade Laverne Scobee,68,of Green Castle died unexpectedly following an apparent heart attack (it was emphasyma. He couldn't exhale) Sunday morning at 9:10, at his home.
The son of James N. and Emma Rosetta Lewis Scobee,he was born Sept. 27,1904 near Sidney in Putnam County.On Oct. 8, 1925,at Unionville,he married Bertha Ethel Bachman,
who survives.Also surviving are one son,Donald E. Scobee of North Kansas City;one daughter,Mrs. Lloyd (Louise) Jackson,of North Kansas City;four grandchildren,Rickie Jackson, Ronnie Jackson,Randie Dale Scobee and Dannie Gale Scobee; five brothers,Merle Scobee and Ray Scobee,both of Green Castle,Bob Scobee of Smithville,Howard Scobee of Kansas City,and Harold (Bud) Scobee of 2006 E. McPherson and one sister,Mrs. Bob (Alice) Overall of Miami,Fla.
He was preceded in death by one sister,Alta Ellen Scobee.
Mr. Scobee spent most of his life in the Green Castle area where he was engaged in farming.For eleven years he resided in North Kansas City,where he was employed by the North Kansas City Development Company.In 1964 he retired due to ill health and returned to Green Castle.
He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Glenn E. Kent and Son Funeral Chapel in Green City.The Rev. Kenneth Kelley,pastor of the Hamilton Street Baptist Church,will conduct the services.Burial will be in the Green Castle Cemetery.
