Born Aug. 19, 1931, in Meyer, Ill., Mr. Emery was a son of Thomas S. and Gladys Loraine Littleton Emery. He married Annabel Day Jan. 20, 1950, in Palmyra, Mo. She died March 30, 1986.
Mr. Emery was a guard at Quincy Soybean for Burns Security International for 17 years, retiring in August 1993. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, and Otto Bruner Post 170 of the American Legion in Canton. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include a son, Bruce Emery of Canton; six brothers, Clifford of Loraine, Ill., Dale of Mendon, Ill., Marion of Dover, Jim of Blue Eye, Ronnie of Sanford, Mich., and Donald of Quincy; a sister, Mrs. Frank (Betty) Berhorst of Canton; two grandchildren, Jennifer Darley and Tara Emery, both of Canton; and nieces and nephews.
Mr. Emery was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Emery.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Davis Funeral Home by the Rev. Susan Cox-Johnson. Burial with military rites by American Legion Post 170 will be in Forest Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 tonight with family meeting friends after 6 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
