L. D. Bumpus, Bradleytown, Dies Saturday
Leonard D. Bumpus, 75, of Bradleytown, a carpenter by trade, died at 4 a.m. Saturday in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, following several months' illness. He was born in Bradleytown September 29, 1893, a son of Fred R. and Elma Davison Bumpus.
He was a member of the Cooperstown Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Bumpus never married.
He is survived by three brothers, Leo S. Bumpus, Bradleytown; J. Maxwell Bumpus, Johnsonburg; Theodore D. Bumpus, Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters, Mrs. Clyde Shadle, Bradleytown, and Mrs. William Welsh, Chapmanville. A sister, Mrs. Clyde Pringle, preceded him in death.
Removal was made to the Williams Funeral Home, Chapmanville, where friends may call at any time. Rev. Arthur Baker, retired minister from Cooperstown, will officiate at funeral services at 1 p.m. today in the funeral home, and interment will be in Sunville Cemetery.
