Mrs. Bernice Irene Pringle was born September 4th 1895, and died March 12th 1919, aged 23 years, 6 months and 9 days.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Bumpus of Cooperstown, Pa., several brothers: Leo S. of Cooperstown, Pa., J. Maxwell of Canada, Leonard of Sedan, N.M., and Theodore, Nellie and Kerne at home.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Sunville, Pa., and lived a consistent Christian life.
She was united in marriage to Clyde B. Pringle, April 10, 1918, and moved to his homestead near Sedan, N.M.
Several months after their marriage Mr. Pringle was drafted into the Army and is now in France. He is expected home some time in April.
Mrs. Pringle's death resulted from a coal oil explosion at which time she was frightfully burned.
The deceased had made many friends during the four months she had lived here, and her soldier husband and relatives have the sympathy of the entire community.


Venango Citizen-Press, Wednesday, March 19, 1919:
Mrs. Clyde Pringle, a former resident of Rocky Grove and a native of Bradleytown, died Wednesday at Sedan, N.M. from severe burns received Tuesday. Her body is being brought to Franklin and is expected to arrive Sunday evening or Monday morning.
The deceased was formerly Miss Bernice Bumpus, of Bradleytown, where she was born and reared. She resided for five years in Rocky Grove and was a graduate of the class of 1915 of the Rocky Grove High School. The deceased is a niece of H.A. Graham, of Franklin. Her husband, Clyde Pringle, who is now with the American Army in France, is a nephew of R.A. Pringle, of Rocky Grove.
Word of the woman's death came to her father-in-law, W.J. Pringle, of Dempseytown, who received a telegram Tuesday stating that she had been badly burned and on Wednesday received a second telegram stating she had died from the burns received and that the remains were being brought to Franklin. Mrs. Pringle, shortly after graduating from the Rocky Grove High School, returned to her former home in Bradleytown. After her marriage recently she removed with her husband to New Mexico. A brother also resides in New Mexico. She leaves her parents, several sisters and one brother.
