Mary Caroline Hrencher, daughter of the deceased Frank and Caroline Reiling Hrencher, was born in Olpe, Kansas, October 23, 1888, and died at the Wichita hospital October 29, 1949, at the age of 61 years and 6 days.

She moved to Sharon, Kansas with her parents in 1909.

On May 6, 1913, she was united in marriage to Fredrick Augustine Ricke, who preceded her in death on April 22, 1935.

To this union were born seven children whom she leaves to mourn: three sons, Francis, of Attica; Seraphine of Medicine Lodge, and Wilfred of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Catherine (Harold) Dick, Mrs. Mildred (Steve) Ketzner, Marie and Lorena Ricke, all of Sharon; fourteen grandchildren; two sisters, Sr. Salvatore of the Franciscan Order in Kearney, Nebraska, Mrs. Clara Schadegg of Kimball, Nebraska. One sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Winter preceded her in death on February 22, 1947. Four brothers, Francis, Joseph, George and Nicholas, all of Sharon and a host of relatives and friends who loved and admired her.

She was a faithful member of the Catholic church, and an active leader in the social circles in the community, especially in the Altar Society of the St. Boniface church.

Funeral services were conducted in the St. Boniface church on October 31, at 10:00 o'clock with Rev. W. L. Birzer officiating. Interment was in the St. Boniface cemetery at Sharon.
