Gladys, the third daughter of Henry and Bettie Maves Kuster, was raised in Vincennes, then Evansville, IN. For many years Gladys worked in Evansville, both as an upholsterer at the Hercules Buggy Works and also as a cigar roller at Fendrich Cigars.
Gladys married Lyell Jacob Ludwig on 26 October 1909, and they had one son, Lyell Lester Ludwig in June 1912.
Gladys and Lyell Jacob were divorced in April 1922, and Gladys remarried, to Benjamin Biederwolf of Evansville, IN, on 7 March 1925. They were divorced in May 1935.
In 1945, Gladys re-located to Indianapolis, to be near her son and two grandchildren. For many years she was employed by William H. Blocks Department Store in Indianapolis. Gladys always remained very close to her siblings, nieces, and nephews. Over the years, she made frequent trips from Indianapolis to Denver and Grand Junction Colorado to visit her family.
Gladys married for a third time, on 30 April 1958, to Arra Ruth, of Spencer Co, IN. After Arra's death in 1963, Gladys remained in Indianapolis until her death in 1976.
