Corrie was the fifth child of Henry A. Kuster and his wife Bettie Maves Kuster. He was born and raised in Olney, Illinois, and Evansville, Ind. He later moved with his family in about 1904 to Rex, in Wagoner Co, OK. About six years later, the family relocated again, to Denver, CO, where Corrie helped out on his father's farm.

Corrie served as a private during WWI, in the 330th US infantry, from Ramah, CO. He enlisted 10 Jul 1918 and was discharged on 16 Apr 1919.

Obituary: Corrie N. Kuster. Marshfield. Funeral services for Corrie Nelson Kuster, 71, Route 4, Marshfield will be at 2 pm Sunday in Barber Edwards Chapel here with the Rev. Clay McVay officiating. Burial will be in Marshfield Cemetery. Mr. Kuster, who died at 6 am in an Indianapolis, Ind, hospital, was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his wife Clara; two step-daughters, Mrs. Lavena Davies of Toale, Utah, and Mrs. Irene Stroud of Marshfield; three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Ruth, Indianapolis, Mrs. Sarah Brown, San Paula, Calif., and Mrs. Mamie Edgar, Clifton, Colo.; and thirteen grandchildren.
