Corrie was the fifth child of Henry A. Kuster and his wife Bettie Maves Kuster. He was born and raised in Olney, Illinois, and Evansville, Ind. He later moved with his family in about 1904 to Rex, in Wagoner Co, OK. About six years later, the family relocated again, to Denver, CO, where Corrie helped out on his father's farm.
Corrie served as a private during WWI, in the 330th US infantry, from Ramah, CO. He enlisted 10 Jul 1918 and was discharged on 16 Apr 1919.

Surviving are his wife Clara; two step-daughters, Mrs. Lavena Davies of Toale, Utah, and Mrs. Irene Stroud of Marshfield; three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Ruth, Indianapolis, Mrs. Sarah Brown, San Paula, Calif., and Mrs. Mamie Edgar, Clifton, Colo.; and thirteen grandchildren.
