On July 16, 1942, Mary was united in marriage to Hubert Cormeny in Lyons, Kansas and later was united in marriage to Ernest Cormeny on January 11, 1977 in Centerville, Iowa. She was a home maker and enjoyed raising her family and watching her grandchildren grow.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husbands, Hubert Cormeny on May 25, 1968 and Ernest Cormeny on March 10, 1985; son, Ronald Cormeny on December 19, 2004; grandson, Wade Cormeny on September 4, 2002; brothers, Gilbert, John, Raymond and Willam Monroe; sisters, Irene Droegemeier, Margarette Cormeny, Velma Monroe and Mildred Monroe.
Mary is survived by: her sons, Phillip and his wife, Sandy Cormeny of Blakesburg, Iowa and Darrell and his wife, JoAnn Cormeny of Centerville, Iowa; daughter, Belva and her husband, Lee Ellison of Unionville, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Letha Cormeny of Unionville, Iowa; brothers, Francis Monroe of Garden City, Kansas, Orville Monroe of Great Bend, Kansas and Bruce Monroe of Lyons, Kansas; a sisster, Garnet Hicks of Plainsfield, Illinois; Ten grandchildren and Twenty great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Jim Matheney officiating. Burial will follow at the Hilltown Cemetery south of Moulton, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 from 1 till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with the family present from 6 till 8 pm. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimers Association.
