Mrs. John Monroe

GENESEO - Mrs. Amanda Mae Monroe, 79, died Wednesday at Lyons District Hospital. Born Sept 14, 1894, at Faber (sic), Mo, she was married to John P Monroe, Dec 24, 1910, at Centerville, Iowa. He died Jan 21, 1951. She lived here since 1920.

Survivors are daughters Mrs. E O Cromeny (sic), Centerville, Mrs. Mary Cromeny (sic), Unionville, Iowa, Mrs. Walt Droegemeier, Geneseo, Mrs. Garnet Hicks, Downers Grove, Ill., sons John, Jr., San Antonio, Tex., Raymond E and Francis L, Geneseo, Bruce C, Lyons, Orville L, Great Bend, sisters Mrs. Ottis Smith, Kansas City, Mrs. Garnet Webber, Chicago, Ill, 89 grandchildren, 49 great-granchildren, four great great granchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, Geneseo, Rev J Paul Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Geneseo Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Crawford-Miller Mortuary, Lyons. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society in care of the Citizens State Bank, Geneseo.
