Per family members Lena had surgery for appendicitis which was complicated by flu and pneumonia and died April 20, 1910. She was buried next to the first wife of her Uncle John Sprunk, Mary Sprunk in the Catholic Cemetery of St. Peter and Presentation. She was just 20 years of age and unmarried.

Update: it is now believed that Mrs. Sprunk is not buried here. Perhaps one of her children. She and her husband divorced and she went to live in Colfax County where she is buried.

SHELBY SUN APRIL 21, 1910

Miss Lena Siddle (Siedel) daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Siedel, living about 10 miles north of Shelby, died rather suddenly yesterday. She was about 20 years of age and had been under doctors care with an attack of the grippe, but the direct cause of her death, we understand, was paraylsis of the vital organs.
