Ruth L. Smith, 91, of Alma MI, formerly of Shepherd MI, passed away at the Michigan Masonic Home in Alma on Wednesday, January 19, 2000.
Funeral services will be Saturday January 22, 2000, at 2:00 p.m. from the Westlawn Church of Christ in Shepherd MI with Brett Coney officiating. Interment will be in Salt River Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Westlawn Church of Christ.
Ruth L. Smith was born January 10, 1909, in Mt. Pleasant MI to Levi and Lillian (Gary) Nestle. She married Robert Smith September 27, 1930, in Kentucky. He preceded her in death in 1974. She had worked as a physical therapist at the Isabella County Broomfield Nursing Home and later at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility, retiring in the mid 1970's. She was a member of the Westlawn Church of Christ and the Eastern Star of Shepherd.
She is survived by daughter, Barb (Ed) Dickman of Six Lakes MI; son Bud Wanda) Smith of Mt. Pleasant MI; 7 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Alice Davidson of Midland MI, Gretchen (Paul) Ames of Shepherd MI; Special niece, Sandra (Gary) Gimmey of Lansing MI and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Pearl, Bob, Louis, Ernest Nestle.
